OREANDA-NEWS. June 02, 2011. The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Rostov region (Rostov OFAS Russia) initiated cases against “Zimkhleboproduct” CJSC, “Zernigradsky” Works” OJSC, “Millerovsky” Elevator” OJSC and “Proletarsky” Elevator” Ltd. upon the signs of violating Clause 1 Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition” – fixing and maintaining monopolistically high prices, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

Cases were initiated upon the findings of an inspection of companies that provide services for storage and shipment of grain from the intervention fund in the Rostov region. The inspection took place following the instructions given by the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia).

Rostov OFAS Russia discovered that the companies’ costs of storing grain other from the intervention fund exceeded the average market price in the region by over 20%: around 80 Rubles per ton in comparison to 62.75 Rubles.

Having examined calculations of the costs of grain storage services, submitted by the four grain elevators, the antimonopoly body was unable to conclude that such costs were economically justified. The decision about the fact of an antimonopoly violation of its absence will be made upon the outcome of the case investigation.
