OREANDA-NEWS. June 02, 2011. As it was informed in the Ministry of Economy, at the end of 2010 the Dutch direct investments in Moldovan national economy amounted to 19,1% of the total amount of attracted foreign direct investment in Moldova, which as at 31 December 2010 amounted to USD 2 billion 837.5 million.

It is followed by: Cyprus - 13,4% of total investments, Italy - 10,8%, Germany - 8,1%, Romania - 7,6%, Russia - 7,4%. It should be noted that till 2006 Russia took 1 st place in total volume of direct investment in Moldova.

However, subsequently the Netherlands outran Russia through implementation by the Dutch holding EasEur Holding BV of large-scale investment project for construction of Jurjulesti port. At the same time, experts note that it is difficult to accurately estimate the volume of Russian investment in Moldova because many investments are made by Russian companies through offshore and foreign companies.
