OREANDA-NEWS. June 02, 2011. Apparently, that without modernization of housing and communal services adequate modernization of the country is simply impossible. It was declared by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov during the expanded session of the Cabinet of Ministers at participation of the President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych.

"I completely agree with the President: housing and communal services of the country requires cardinal reforms", - Mykola Azarov said, adding that "the Government should take up the responsibility for delay which has occured".

He recognized that the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services, as well as the heads of regional administrations have not coped with putting in order in this branch.

"It is necessary to realize, that the reform infringing interests of each consumer of municipal services - the serious test both for the government, and for local self-management", - the Prime Minister emphasized.

At the same time he emphasized that settlement of a problem of tariffs - only one of components of complex reforming housing and communal sphere of Ukraine. The subject brought up today, "becomes the first in a turn of serious discussions in key directions of this reform", - Mykola Azarov assured, adding: "Understanding, how much such reform is necessary to people, the Government counts its realization by a point of honour. At the same time, we very much count on support from local communities, bodies of self-organizing of the population".
