OREANDA-NEWS. June 06, 2011. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) initiated a case against Rosmorrechflot upon the signs of violating Part 3 Article 15 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation “On Implementing the Provisions of Chapter XI-2 of 1974 International Convention for Safety of Life at Sea and the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code” determines that Rosmorrechflot shall issue Acts on Port Facility Conformity, International Ship Protection Certificates as well as Temporary International Ship Protection Certificates.

At the moment these functions are performed by “Marine Security Service” Federal State Enterprise, which is subordinate to Rosmorrechflot.

FAS Russia believes that the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation does not authorize “Marine Security Service” Federal State Enterprise to issue the above documents, and therefore actions Rosmorrechflot have the signs of violating Part 3 Article 15 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”.

The case is scheduled for 4th July 2011.
