OREANDA-NEWS. June 6, 2011. CROC offers a unique service in the Russian IT market – free demo access to its cloud platform. To date, more than 50 companies have expressed interest in the proposal while the most active of Russian and foreign banks, industrial enterprises, insurance and construction companies have already evaluated the potential that CROC’s cloud has to offer for their businesses.

“The market lacks understanding of what cloud computing is and how it can be used in real life,” says Ruslan Zaedinov, Deputy Director General and Head of CROC Data Centers. “We decided to move from words to action and to offer our customers the opportunity to evaluate the benefits of cloud computing. Completely free of charge, they can learn the basic principles of working with IaaS and deploy an extensive cloud-based information infrastructure, or even try out a cloud as a backup data center.”

“TNS is genuinely interested in the adoption of new technology to accomplish our tasks. After testing, the IT specialists from the TNS office in Russia fully appreciated the potential of cloud computing with regard to our business and the technology options available to help us meet our objectives. Therefore, we consider CROC’s offering to be valuable and are pleased to make the most of this opportunity,” commented Leonid Scherbakov, Head of the Systems Support Department, TNS Russia Media Research.

“We are evaluating the prospect of using the cloud. If the technology really helps us dramatically save resources and ensure information security, we will certainly make it one of our main areas of focus,” said Nikolai Protopopov, Head of Systems Technology Administration, ZAO Bank Intesa.

CROC’s cloud compatibility with Amazon cloud services (using EC2 and S3 protocols) ensures that customers are not ‘locked in’ with a single provider. And locating the cloud in CROC’s own data center means that a full range of CROC’s integration services and a high level of data security are available to customers.
