OREANDA-NEWS. June 6, 2011. Belarus will not increase the first grade wage rate in 2011, Deputy Economy Minister Andrei Tur said when speaking to MPs of both chambers of parliament on Friday.

“Not to broaden the gap between high-paid and low-paid workers, we have decided not to raise the first grade wage rate this year,” Tur said when commenting on measures for the country to overcome the financial crisis.

At the same time, Belarus plans to introduce an indexing mechanism. “If we turn on indexing schemes, people will be getting 130,000-170,000 Belarusian rubles a month,” Tur said.
