OREANDA-NEWS. June 7, 2011. Tata Projects (TPL), a pioneer EPC company in the field of power, infrastructure and steel, has organised a two-day seminar on `contracts management’ in association with Consulting Engineers Association of India (CEAI) on June 6 and 7, 2011, at the Taj Krishna in Hyderabad.

AK Misra, executive director and chief operating officer, TPL, addressed an august gathering as the special invitee and shared his wide and longstanding experience of over 40 years in the power sector in India and abroad, emphasising the necessity of governance through effective 'contracts management'. He complemented CEAI for associating with Tata Projects and achieving goals on knowledge-sharing through such awareness programmes amongst the professional fraternity.

The seminar was inaugurated by NVS Reddy, managing director, Hyderabad Metro, who emphasised the need for enhancement of skills for proper conceptualisation, formulation, documentation, interpretation and administration of contracts, especially in the mega projects like Hyderabad Metro Rail Project. Mr Reddy while complementing Tata group for setting up benchmarks of transparency and ethical standards, appreciated TPL for having extended the required support to the knowledge-sharing programmes in 'contracts management'.

Bogdan Oprea of Romania, a renowned international FIDIC trainer, contract consultant and arbitrator is the main faculty of the seminar and is ably supported by PV Amarnadha Prasad, an eminent engineer and an advocate at the Supreme Court of India, as well as RN Raghavan, an eminent consultant.

While welcoming the gathering, A Venkateshwar, vice president, TPL, conducted the inaugural proceedings and thanked the organising teams comprising contracts management department of TPL and CEAI for having conducted the programme in this niche field of contracts management.

The seminar has been attended by professionals engaged in manufacturing and construction industries, consulting and the legal profession.
