OREANDA-NEWS. June 7, 2011. From June 23 through 25, 2011, the Exhibition Centre Russky Dom in Vologda will be hosting the International Flax Festival, a festival for innovation technologies to be applied in the linen industry and manufacture of flax fibre.

In general, the International Flax Festival collects everything related to the world of linen industry: fabrics, clothes, textile, souvenirs, as well as looms, spinning machines and accessories.

The program highlights include a competition among weavers, a competition "Silver Bobbin", a competition of fabric, clothes, footwear and accessories collection "Flax - in Goods of Russia", an exposition "Lace Labyrinth" and display of flax-growing and flax-processing equipment, textile and light industry machinery.

The exhibition program also includes seminars and workshops encompassing almost all issues associated with the current domestic and world linen market state.

The overall aim of the festival is to enable the participants to exchange opinions, experiences, good practices and resources related to flax growing and linen industry, and to ensure that the knowledge created is effectively shared and used in the Russian regions and worldwide.
