OREANDA-NEWS. June 08, 2011. The Head of the FAS Russia’s Department for Control over Electric Power Industry, Vitaly Korolyov, made a presentation at the conference on “Energy Supply and Energy Trading. Wholesale and Retail Electric Power Markets”, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The conference focused on the issues of improving legislation and regulation of electric power markets, the prospects of developing competitive environment, pricing problems, relationships between participants of wholesale and retail markets, energy saving and enhancing efficiency of energy activities.

Representatives of business circles, legal community, the authorities as well as representatives of the industry and the Market Council.

In his report, devoted to the issues of improving the law in the field of electric power industry and enforcement practice of the antimonopoly authority, Vitaly Korolyov gave his assessment of the situation on the market of electric power industry in Russia, emphasized importance of today’s pro-competitive reforms in this sector of the economy, outlined the main directions of antimonopoly control, and quoted statistics regarding antimonopoly control efforts in 2010.

“This open dialogue allows market participants to understand the position of the Antimonopoly Service on the problems that are of interest to them, and obtain “first-hand” answers to important questions, which is the guarantee for predictability and, as a consequence, sustainable development of economic relations on the electric power market”, pointed out Vitaly Korolyov.
