OREANDA-NEWS. June 9, 2011. Opening of the pig-breeding farm Kondopozhsky Pig Complex Joint-Stock Company affiliated to AKS-Holding Ltd. took place on June 8 in the settlement of Beryozovka of Kondopoga region. Currently, it is the first and the only one in the republic modern complex of such a level.

First Deputy Head of the Republic of Karelia Yuri Kancher, Deputy Head of the Republic of Karelia and Minister of Economic Development of the RK Valentin Luntsevich, Minister of Agriculture, Fish and Hunting Industry of the Republic of Karelia Grigory Manuilov, First Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Karelia Ivan Romanov, Head of Petrozavodsk urban district Nikolay Levin, head of the administration of Kondopoga municipal region Valery Bessonov, acting director of Karelian regional branch of Rosselkhozbank, Inc. Natalia Loginova, Director General of AKS-Holding Ltd. Georgy Kostyukov, representatives of contractor organizations have taken part in the opening ceremony.

Construction of the complex in Beryozovka started in September, 2009. In a year and a half there have appeared a quarantine building, a reproducer with an administrative and household complex, a modern laboratory, fattening buildings with a completely automated system of feeding. All of them are fit up with modern energy-efficient hi-tech equipment made by the world leading manufacturers. The automatic system of ventilation established there controls air exchange with the help of a computer which records the data concerning the quantity and weight of animals and the optimum air temperature.

Construction was financed from internal funds and loan capital, total amount of investments has made 455 million roubles. The building loan was issued by Karelian regional branch of Rosselkhozbank, Inc. Several enterprises took part in implementation of the project: Karelstroimekhanizatsiya Joint-Stock Company was the general contractor, the manufacturing equipment was delivered by Hartmann, Ltd. (Germany), breeding animals came to Beryozovka from the Belgian company RATTLEROW SEGHERS, fodder concentrates for them were delivered by the Hungarian enterprise of Agro-Premix Ltd. (Hungary), and production of forages is accomplished by Korm Inc. poultry farm of Petrozavodsk which is currently also a part of AKS-Holding Ltd.

In February from France to the enterprise there have been delivered 310 breeding sows and boars, in the near future their number will increase to 645. Quite recently foreign 'mummies' have brought forth their first piglings in Karelian land. Yuri Kancher has congratulated everybody on the Day of the Republic and has expressed confidence, that products of Karelian commodity producers will become famous among the citizens of the republic, and beyond.

-— Today, on a day so significant for our republic, we launch a new, hi-tech agricultural enterprise which is of great importance for development of agriculture in Karelia, — he said. It is a great step forward for the agro-industrial complex of the republic, as it is the first large project in Karelia in the field of pig-breeding where progressive technologies of feeding and accommodation of animals corresponding completely to modern European standards are introduced.

Appearance of this pig-breeding complex in the republic is the next stage of implementation of the Agroindustrial Complex Development priority national project in Karelia and is of great importance for agriculture development in the republic. Automation of the basic production processes in the new complex will make it possible to minimize production efforts. Upon achieving the estimated capacity the number of workers of the enterprise will make 56 people.

Commissioning the pig-breeding complex will allow to solve the task of provision of raw material for Karelian Meat-Packing Plant Inc. appreciably and also will provide citizens of the republic with high-quality meat and sausage products. Annually it is planned to raise up to 12,000 head of pigs, to make 1,100 tons of pork a year that will double volumes of its production in the republic.
