OREANDA-NEWS. June 16, 2011. UTair Group, consisting of UTair Aviation, UTair Express, UTair-Ukraine, UTair-Cargo, Nefteyugansk, Helisur, UTair Europe s.r.o., UTair South Africa (Pty) Ltd and UTair India continues to show significant growth.

In January-May 2011 passenger turnover constituted 3,779,462.2 passenger-kilometers, an increase of 33.2% over same period in 2010 and surpassing the industry average for growth in this indicator, which stands at 11.1%.

Other indicators considerably grew over the period. In January-May 2011 the Group’s fixed wing and rotorcraft fleets transported 2,510,228 passengers, a YoY increase of 27.6% (helicopters transported 74% more passengers). Passenger transportation growth of other Russian airlines averaged 9.7%.

In the period from January to May 2011 the Group’s aircraft delivered 6,526.7 tons of cargo, 13.5% more than for the same period in 2010 and 1,935.4 tons of mail, 35.9% more than for the same period in 2010. In total, the Group’s fixed wing aircraft logged 90,205 flight hours, 20.5% more than for the same period last year. The UTair Group’s helicopters logged a total of 43,988 flight hours, 15.2% more than for the same reporting period last year. UTair’s helicopters transported 43,118.6 tons of cargo, which equivalents a 5.1% growth.
