OREANDA-NEWS. June 22, 2011. In January-May 2011 Freight One saw its traffic volumes increase to over 123.0 million metric tons, which is 12.8% more than the same period of 2010.

This figure includes 47.3 million tons of coal (+24.4%), 29.0 million tons of oil products (-8.7%), 10.7 million tons of ferrous and iron ore (+8.4%), 9.2 million tons of construction materials (+63.6%), 5.2 million tons of cement (+7.6%), 8.5 million tons of ferrous metals (+14.7%), 2.3 million tons of chemical and mineral fertilizers (+5.3%) and 1.9 million tons of coke (+14.6%).

The company accounted for 21.8% of the total traffic in Russia during the period.

The increase was due to the company’s balanced rate policy. The company’s rates in May were on average 6% lower than the total cost of using state-owned wagons (Price List № 10—01 + fee for using the wagon during the period of loading and unloading).
