OREANDA-NEWS. June 22, 2011. The Belarusian government has authorized the Trade Ministry to identify on an annual basis alcohol products the import of which will not be subject to the exclusive right of the state, under resolution #713 of the Council of Ministers.

The list will include sparkling wines, vermouths, and natural grape wines and other wines with flavors in containers of 2 liters and less, as well as cognac, whiskey, rum and gin.

A private importer of alcoholic beverages in Belarus must have charter capital of at least 250,000 euros.

Belarus previously lifted limitations on import of high-priced alcoholic beverages and alcohol in containers over 2 liters by presidential decree #2 dated April 11, 2011.
