OREANDA-NEWS. June 24, 2011. Freight One increased its traffic to over 123 million metric tons in January-May 2011, an increase of 12.8% over the same period of 2010. This figure includes 47.3 million tons of coal (+24.4%), 29.0 million tons of oil products (-8.7%), 10.7 million tons of ferrous and iron ore (+8.4%), 9.2 million tons of construction materials (+63.6%), 5.2 million tons of cement (+7.6%), 8.5 million tons of ferrous metals (+14.7%), 2.3 million tons of chemical and mineral fertilizers (+5.3%) and 1.9 million tons of coke (+14.6%).

The company accounted for 21.8% of the total traffic on the Russian Railways network during the period.

The increased traffic is a consequence of the company’s balanced rate. The company’s rates in May were on average 6% lower than the total cost of using state-owned rolling stock based on Price List 10—1 plus the fee for using wagons during the period of loading and unloading.
