OREANDA-NEWS. June 27, 2011. After securing the necessary approvals from the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, Uniastrum’s Board of Directors has appointed Sergei Larchenko Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, simultaneously making him a member of the Bank’s Management Board. Mr. Larchenko will be responsible for supervising the activities of Uniastrum’s Operations and Administration, and Information Technology divisions

Sergei Larchenko graduated the Moscow Aviation Institute, later obtaining an Executive MBA at the IPO UFSIA Management School in Antwerp. Over the years Mr. Larchenko has acquired a solid track record in banking, gained from working in Russian and Western banks, specializing in areas such as optimization of operational processes, deployment of information systems, and branch and ATM development.

A seasoned professional, Sergei Larchenko’s career in banking stretches back over 20 years. He has held executive positions at Unicombank (1991-1994), where he headed the operations and IT divisions, Promstroibank (1994-1999), and Citibank (1999-2011), which included two tenures (2001-2002 and 2005-2006) at Citibank, London, where he was responsible, among other duties, for deploying Bank Client software in 33 countries throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia, as well as an EBS software platform for retail operations in Spain, Belgium, Germany and Italy. Between 2007 and 2010 he was in charge of Citibank Moscow’s retail operations department. He joined Uniastrum in January 2011.
