OREANDA-NEWS. June 28, 2011. The leading domestic wine companies have presented Moldova in Bordeaux (France) as the country of successful wine production.

President of the Moldova Wine Guild, Nelly Sonic – who is also Vice President of the company Lion Gri – said to your Infotag correspondent that all Moldovan companies presented their best samples of goods under the single brand name Moldova Wine Country in the Bordeaux expo.

“At the international exhibition "VinExpo 2011", which is held one year in Bordeaux and next year in Hong Kong [by turn], the stand of Moldova was fortunately placed at the very entry, which allowed all visitors to pay attention to Moldovan wines”, Sonic said.

According to her, wine producers presented many videos on Moldovan viticulture, about the country, grape growing and wine production.

“I would like to say that a wine company can not conquer alone. It is more efficient and productive to promote Moldovan wines to new outlets under the single brand of whole country. The Bordeaux expo showed once again that Moldova can efficiently trade in wines not only at the Russian market, but also other countries discovering new brands of Moldovan wines”, she said.

Nelly Sonic said that many Bordeaux expo visitors, first of all, from the United States, France, China, Czech Republic and Poland, were interested in wines produced from grapes of Rara Neagra, Feteasca Alba and Feteasca Neagra.

She thanked the CEED II [Competitiveness Enhancement and Enterprise Development II] project that helps the wine sector of Moldova to participate in prestigious profiled competitions.
