OREANDA-NEWS. July 05, 2011. An International Summer School of Law was held in Minsk, Belarus, with participation by leading experts from Belarus, Germany and France. The event, organised by the Belarusian State University with the support of University Paris West-Nanterre-Defense and the University of Potsdam, brought together renowned lecturers and scientists in the field of alternative dispute resolution, reported the press-centre of SORAINEN.

SORAINEN partner Alexey Anischenko, head of the Dispute Resolution Practice in Belarus, took part in the Summer School and made a presentation on the role of the lawyer in alternative dispute resolution in the economic sector. Within the scope of the presentation students, graduates and doctoral students were invited to participate in a discussion on comparative analysis of the legal systems of different countries as well as current trends in development of jurisprudence in Europe.

Overall the thematic emphasis of the Summer School was clearly defined: the participants formed an idea of alternative dispute resolution rules in Belarus, Germany and France. Amicable settlement of disputes is becoming increasingly important worldwide, which entails the need to strengthen international exchange of experience on the subject. In comparison with other CIS countries Belarus has a very interesting experience of judicial conciliation and mediation. Therefore, the professional debate within the Summer School was held at a very high level and was useful for all participants.
