OREANDA-NEWS. July 06, 2011. Latvijas Krajbanka launches an international Student and Youth Cards, which offer wide opportunities and benefits at the international level, reported the press-centre of Latvijas Krajbanka.

These international VISA payment cards have been produced in collaboration with "Jaunatnes Attistibas Asociacija" and may apply to schoolchildren, students and young people aged 15 to 30 years. There are offered two types of cards – Student or Youth cards. Student Card is an identity card, which can be used as an identification document, as well as payment, travel and discount card. While the Youth card is intended for all young people with the opportunity to choose a card as an identification document (with or without photos) and a payment card for purchases and services. In Europe one may receive special benefits and discounts in more than 80 000 places, of which 170 are based in Latvia.

International Student and Youth cards have all the characteristics of the VISA payment cards – the one can pay for goods and services in Latvia and foreign countries free of charge, as well as make payments online, withdraw cash from Krajbanka, SEB Bank, Citadele, GE Money Bank, DnB Nord, Swedbank, Latvijas Hipoteku un zemes banka, Nordea, Privat Bank and Snoras (Lithuania) ATMs free of charge; to receive discounts when paying for goods and services in both Latvia and Europe (with the possibility to trawel, pay for goods and services more cheaply in 40 countries across Europe), as well as to receive a 20% discount to "LKB Life" Accident insurance when applying for a card. Card use fee per year is only 2 lats.
