In its constant endeavour to improve quality and efficiency, Tata Power has ensured innovation takes a precedent in driving performance at its various operational and project locations.

One such initiative by the Quality Control (QC) team of the Jojobera thermal power station has won the company recognition at the ICQCC convention held at Singapore during June 15 – 17, 2011.

The award-winning entry was an innovative model for pumping stored water using air. The model was appreciated for its energy saving and environment friendly potential and the ingenious use of resources.

Applauding the efforts of the QC team, PL Manjrekar, general manager, Jojobera thermal plant, Tata Power, said, “At Jojobera plant, we drive innovative solutions for existing needs. The air-operated water suction pump is one such need for which the QC team at the plant came out with this innovative idea to save electricity and thus moves towards eco-friendly solutions. Almost every business in the world has the need to pump water from one source to another and that’s why the importance and relevance of this ingenious method was rated highly and appreciated so much at the global convention. We will be looking forward to replicating this pump at all our plants in the country.”
