OREANDA-NEWS. July 08, 2011. The Uniastrum Bank President has accepted an invitation to become a member of the Presidium of the ARB Board, established this June 30 at a meeting of the Board of the Association of Russian Banks with a view to improving the work of the organization’s governing bodies, reported the press-centre of Uniastrum Bank.

The Board meeting focused on the tasks that Russian banks must accomplish if they are to put into place a series of measures geared toward implementing the Russian banking sector’s Development Strategy for up until 2015. Also discussed were current problems of banking legislation, law enforcement practices, and other important issues. In order to optimize the work of ARB’s governing bodies, a resolution was passed approving the ARB Board Presidium Regulations, simultaneously establishing its membership composition.

Besides Mr. Zakaryan, ARB Board’s Presidium includes Garegin Tosunyan (ARB), Vladimir Golubkov (Rosbank), German Gref (Sberbank), Pavel Gurin (Raiffeisenbank), Mikhail Zadornov (VTB-24), Igor Kogan (Nordea Bank), Andrei Kostin (VTB), Sergei Kryukov (Russian Bank for Development), Larisa Markus (Vneshprombank), Boris Mints (Otkrytie Bank), Alexei Sokolov (Bank Zenit), Dmitri Sokolov (Nomos Bank), Vladimir Stolyarenko (Evrofinance Mosnarbank), Rushan Khvesyuk (Alfa Bank), Mikhail Shishkhanov (Binbank), Ildar Muslimov (Uralsib), Vladimir Nikitenko (Petrocommerce Bank), Nikolai Sidorov (Absolut Bank), and Ilya Yurov (Trust Bank).
