OREANDA-NEWS. July 8 2011. For Kansk CHP team summer is the critical time of the plant preparation for the heating season. Power industry specialists annually undertake repair and preventive action and traditionally take their implementation very responsible and serious. The current year is no exception.

The programme of the plant preparation for 2011–2012 autumn / winter season was approved of as early as the beginning of the year. Included in the programme have been actions for capital and current repair of equipment, buildings and structures one needs to complete to prepare for the coming winter.

Currently, approximately 40% of the funds allocated for repairs has been assimilated. One has fulfilled rather a vast amount of work. The remaining works will be performed according to the schedule by the heating season beginning.

In the course of preparation for the winter one has performed hydraulic testing of heating Trunk Lines No. 1 “A”, 2, 3, 4, 5 in order to evaluate the tightness and mechanical strength of the tubes and valves and determine the scope of work for the repair period. Within a tight schedule one has completed standard repair of Kansk CHP heating unit with all the defects revealed having been eliminated. One is through with current repairs of Boilers 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, Turbine Unit No. 3. One has performed capital repair of Plant No. 1 Б conveyor with 100% replacement of the conveyor belt. Current repairs of the auxiliary equipment have been fulfilled including pumps, reheaters, deaerators. Additionally, one has repaired some of the buildings and structures.

Due to minimum load during the summer period the peak of the repair programme implementation happens in June-August. During this time one plans to replace the furnace tubes and downcomers of Plant No. 2 boiler, undertake current repair of Boiler No. 6, Turbine Units No. 1, 2, capital repair of the roofs of the boiler shop Stage 4 and the chemical water treatment shop Stage 1, the corrosion-resistant coating of Accumulator Tank No. 6, tanks for chemically treated and decarbonized water. Then one is going to proceed with capital repair of the chimney stack of Plant No. 1.

The well-coordinated work of Kansk CHP team is noteworthy. “On our staff are experienced specialists well aware of specificity of repair works in power engineering industry”, says the plant Director V.N. Vladimirov. “Thanks to high qualification and engineering preparedness of the personnel we successfully maintain equipment in operation while recovering its operability. No doubt the plant will successfully cope with the task of preparation for 2011–2012 heating season.”

Timely and quality implementation of the actions will enable Kansk CHP to stand the winter season maximum loads ensuring uninterrupted supply of heat and electricity to the city residents.
