OREANDA-NEWS. July 08, 2011. The Turkmenistan-Estonia political consultations were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The delegation led by Mart Volmer, Director General of the Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia had arrived to the Turkmen capital to take part in the meeting.

The members of the Estonian delegation were briefed on key aspects of the foreign policy strategy of Turkmenistan aimed at establishing mutually beneficial cooperation with different countries of the world. Focusing on the existing tremendous potential to enhance bilateral relations, the meeting participants expressed the great interest in strengthening fruitful partnership in all spheres. In this context emphasis was put on the importance of promoting the political dialogue.

The innovative technology, transport, communication, tourism and other sectors were defined as the very promising fields of cooperation. The foreign guests noted that leading Estonian companies were keenly interested in establishing close business relations with Turkmenistan.

Particular attention was paid to cooperation within the framework of authoritative international organisations and expansion of the dialogue between Turkmenistan and EU member states. Underscoring the significance of promotion of humanitarian partnership, the meeting participants called for strengthening and expanding cultural relations.
