OREANDA-NEWS. July 11, 2011. The Lithuanian Business Leaders 2011 project implemented by Nordea and Verslo Zinios ended with an the award ceremony, during which the CEO of the Year was established for the first time in Lithuania, reported the press-centre of Nordea.

‘Top managers are usually humble and hard-working and have a clear vision. This contest is an evaluation of their achievements’, Inga Skisaker, Director General of Nordea Bank Lietuva, said.
By decision of the commission, the title of the CEO of the Year was awarded to Arunas Siksta, General Manager of TEO LT AB. The other top candidates were Vladas Bumelis of Sicor Biotech/TEVA, Algimantas Markauskas of Thermo Fisher Scientific, Tomas Milaknis of Alna Group, and Antanas Zabulis of Omnitel.

Readers of the Verslo Zinios website were also actively involved in the election of the CEO of the Year; most of their votes went to Tomas Milaknis, Director General of Alna.

Lithuanian Business Leaders 2011 also featured categories such as the Most Efficient Company, which was Thermo Fisher Scientific UAB; the Exporter of the Year, which was given to Arginta UAB; the Investor of the Year, which was given to Western Union; and the Greenest Company, which was given to EMP Recycling UAB. 

The Lithuanian Business Leaders 2011 project, which was started in March by Nordea and Verslo Zinios, is intended for the major companies of the country. The aim of the project is to not only assess and award the best companies, but to also create an environment in which company heads can share their experience and opinions and get inspiration for new works. It is planned to continue the project in the future with a view to bringing businesses and society closer together and showing gratitude to heads whose companies not only create new jobs but are also socially responsible.
