OREANDA-NEWS. July 11, 2011. The salary in April this year in the public sector averaged 2,743.3 leis, 11.6% more than in April last year, in the real sector of economy – 3,319.1 leis (+14.6% against April 2010), according to the National Statistics Office.

The real earnings index in April 2011 amounted to 6.8% against April 2010 (given the consumer price index).

The highest salaries in April 2011 were registered in the financial sector – 7,616.9 leis (+14% against April 2010), at the enterprises of the electricity-, gas- and water supply – 5,520.7 leis (+15.9%), at transport and communications enterprises – 4,026.9 leis (+13.5%). The lowest-paid are still workers of the fishing industry, their average salary in April 2011 amounting to 1,480.7 leis (+7.9%), and the agrarian industry and forestry – 1,722.8 leis (+20.8%).

Low salaries remain in the hotel business – 2,278.7 leis, education – 2,544.8 leis, trade – 2,663.1 leis, health care and social field – 2,910.8 leis. As it was reported earlier, the salary throughout the country in January 2011 amounted to 2,835.6 leis, in February – 2,884.5 leis, in March – 2,985.1 leis.
