OREANDA-NEWS. July 12, 2011. A joint campaign was organized by the SEB Heategevusfond and SEB Elu- ja Pensionikindlustus as part of a broader charity campaign designed to raise money to provide children in shelters around Estonia with new pairs of shoes, reported the press-centre of SEB.

EUR 10 was donated from every Growth Portfolio Junior and Child Insurance contract entered into as part of the campaign, with a grand total of EUR 1550 being raised.

This amount will be added to that already raised from standing order donations and be used at the end of July to purchase 500 pairs of new shoes for the shelter kids – everything from trainers and boots to dress shoes and galoshes. With them, the kids will get to take part in a variety of sports events organised by SEB – instilling the sporting bug in them when they would otherwise have very limited opportunities to enjoy such activities.

The money raised will be used in support of nine shelters: the Children’s Shelter of Tallinn Children’s Home; the Young Children’s Shelter of Tallinn Children’s Home; Tallinn Children’s Safe House; the Family Help Centre in Parnu; Narva Children’s Shelter; Tartu Children’s Safe House; the ‘Lootus’ Children’s Welfare Centre in Sillamae; and Kiikla and Haiba Children’s Homes.

For more information about the activities of the SEB Heategevusfond and the kids’ impressions of the events they have taken part in, take a look at the charity fund’s website at www.heategevusfond.ee.

Everyone wins when friends lend each other a helping hand! Every cent donated in support of children is truly invaluable. Thank you – on behalf of the children, and on behalf of the fund.
