OREANDA-NEWS. July 12, 2011. Belarusian foreign trade deficit amounted to USD 2.613 billion in January-May 2011, compared to USD 1.841 billion in January-May 2010, according to the website of the National Bank of Belarus.

Overall turnover of commodities and services reached USD 36.561 billion in January-May 2011, up 53.8% on the year.

Exports of commodities and services rose 54.8% to USD 16.974 billion, and imports increased 52.9% to USD 19.587 billion.

Commodity trade deficit reached USD 3.522 billion in January-May 2011 (USD 14.892 billion of exports, 61.1% on the year, and USD 18.414 billion of imports, up 55.6%), and service trade surplus amounted to USD 909 million (USD 2.082 billion of exports, up 20.7%, and USD 1.173 million of imports, up 20.8%).
