OREANDA-NEWS. July 15, 2011. Renaissance Capital, the leading emerging markets investment bank, has expanded and enhanced its Financing Group team with the addition of two senior bankers.

Jonathan Segal will join Renaissance Capital in London as Managing Director, Global Head of Debt Capital Markets (DCM), managing the business and driving global strategy. Prior to joining Renaissance, Segal spent 12 years at Barclays Capital, most recently as managing director, DCM; and five years at Deutsche Bank, also covering DCM.

James Etherington will join Renaissance Capital as Director, Head of UK Equity Capital Markets (ECM), in September. Based in London, Etherington will focus on developing the Firm’s growing AIM stocks franchise and managing its cross-border listings on the Toronto Stock Exchange and Australian Securities Exchange. Prior to joining Renaissance, Etherington spent nearly 10 years in ECM at RBS and Morgan Stanley. At Morgan Stanley, he worked on the UK/Africa team with John Porter, now Head of Financing for Renaissance Capital; and Bogdan Ciobotaru, who joined Renaissance as Head of Financing for CEEMEA in June this year.

Segal and Etherington will both report to John Porter.

“We are pleased to welcome Jonathan and James to Renaissance Capital,” said Porter. “Jonathan’s extensive DCM experience will play an important role in expanding the franchise and offering of Renaissance Capital as the largest emerging markets-focused investment bank. Personally, I look forward to working with James again.”
