OREANDA-NEWS. July 15, 2011. The inauguration of the water system project of Uranium Corporation of India (UCIL) was held on July 7, 2011, at Tummalapalle, Andhra Pradesh. The project was inaugurated by Srikumar Banerjee, chairman, Atomic Energy Commission of India and secretary, Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, in the presence of Ramendar Gupta, chairman and managing director, Uranium Corporation of India. Also present during the inauguration were GS Basu, GM, water division; KC Tewary, DGM (MSW), SS Sengupta, DGM (projects), water division and Jusco Tumalapalle team members.

The foundation stone of the above project was laid in August 2008 by Anil Kakodkar, the then chairman of Atomic Energy Commission of India and secretary, Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. The execution of the project was a great achievement for Jusco, as the site of the project was very difficult and in the interior of the village near Kadapa district. There was literally no approach and the terrain was almost impossible to execute the project. Given the difficulties, the execution of the project was an uphill task which the team from Jusco performed with excellence. The chief guest appreciated the efforts of Jusco in the completion of the project and praised the Jusco team for their excellent performance.
