OREANDA-NEWS. July 19, 2011. According to the Transport Clearing House, in the first half of 2011 UTair Aviation has moved into position among the top three passenger airlines in Russia, the CIS and the Baltic States according to the volume of transported passengers on international and domestic routes.

UTair Group, consisting of UTair Aviation, UTair Express, UTair-Ukraine, UTair-Cargo, Nefteyugansk, Helisur, UTair Europe s.r.o., UTair South Africa Ltd and UTair India continues to show significant growth.

In the period from January to June 2011, passenger turnover constituted 4,945,735.2 passenger-kilometers, an increase of 33.6% over same period in 2010 and surpassing the industry average for growth in this indicator, which stands at 11.3%.

Other indicators grew considerably over the period as well. In the January-June period the Group’s fixed wing and rotorcraft fleets transported 3,203,188 passengers, a YoY increase of 27.5%

In total, the Group’s fixed wing aircraft logged 113,556 flight hours, 20.6% more than for the same period last year. The Group’s aircraft delivered 7,934 tons of cargo, almost 16% more than for the same period in 2010 and 2,289.1 tons of mail, 36.6% more than for the same period in 2010.

The UTair Group’s helicopters logged a total of 58,659 flight hours, 15.1% more than for the same reporting period last year. UTair’s helicopters transported nearly 60 tons of cargo, an increase of 5.4%.
