OREANDA-NEWS. July 19, 2011. State-run Belarusian Metal Plant (BMZ) increased exports 34% on the year in January-June 2011 to USD 784 million, BMZ General Director Anatoly Savenok told reporters on Wednesday.

BMZ plans to export USD 1.5 billion of products in 2011.

In the first half of 2011, the producer registered a USD 269 million surplus.

Steel output of Zhlobin-based BMZ amounted to 1.34 million tonnes in the first half of 2011. Steel pipe output reached 65,000 tonnes, up 28.9% on the year, and metal cord output was at 50,000 tonnes, up 8.6%.

Sales increased 60% on the year in January-June to over USD 1 billion.

BMZ was established 1984. It exports 85% of its make, non-CIS countries account for 70% of exports.
