OREANDA-NEWS. July 26, 2011. IBC took part in a roundtable to discuss development of the halal industry in the Kyrgyz Republic. The event was held by the Ministry of Economic Regulation of the Kyrgyz Republic, reported the press-centre of IBC.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Economic Regulation Oleg Pankratov, Mufti of Kyrgyzstan Muslims Chubak azhy Jalilov, representatives of the Center for Standardization and Metrology, producers of halal products, providers of halal services, and public associations.

On August 1, 2011 the Kyrgyz National Standard (KNS) MS 1500:2011 “Guidelines for the production, manufacturing, processing and storage of halal products"  will come into force.  A Malaysian standard, which regulates the requirements for halal products, was used as the basis for the Kyrgyz document.
