OREANDA-NEWS. July 26, 2011. It was said by the Deputy Minister of Economy Octavian Calmic, the Ministry of Economy’s press service reports. He said the permanent increase in quotas provided to Moldova for duty free export of production to the EU market proves Moldovan exporters’ readiness. Commenting upon the data of using quotas during January 1 – July 21, 2011, Octavian Calmic said that even though the quantity of quotas constantly grows, the country’s economic agents traditionally use them ahead of schedule.

“It demonstrates growth of Moldovan economy’s export potential that will be used as much as possible starting from the moment of introduction of the order of deepened and comprehensive free trade between Moldova and the EU”, said Octavian Calmic. According to him, from January 1 through July 21, 2011, 777 permissions for production export within the provided quotas were issued in the framework of the autonomous trade preferences.

According to the statistics, Moldovan wine exporters supplied 62 thousand hectoliters of wine to the European market (41.3% of the quota of 150,000 hectoliters. Barley export quotas were drawn on the level of 72% - 25.2 thousand tones out of the quota of 35 thousand tones have been supplied. The maize quota was used in full – 30 thousand tones. Moldovan wheat export totaled 35.4 thousand tones out of the quota of 40 thousand tones.
