OREANDA-NEWS. July 26, 2011. The first half-year of 2011 saw KAMAZ’s steady growth of sales in Ukraine.

According to AUTO-Consulting, for the first six months of 2011 KAMAZ has sold by 13.3% more trucks than for the same period last year on the Ukrainian market of trucks with carrying capacity of over 16 tonnes. In addition, KAMAZ has kept the market leader’s position with a share of almost 30% in this segment.

Also, an agricultural truck KAMAZ-45143 from KAMAZ’s model range became the best-selling truck in the segment of commercial vehicles (payload over 16 tonnes) in January-June 2011. Only this model has a share of 16.7% of the Ukrainian heavy truck market.

As regards the segment of commercial vehicles with carrying capacity of 8-16 tons, the market share of OJSC KAMAZ rose by 4% to 17.7%, in comparison with the first six months of 2010. And the sales grew by almost 44%. Thus, according to the results of the first half-year, KAMAZ is among the top three leaders in the segment of medium-duty vehicles, and in June, it ranked first with a share of 38.5%.

Of course, such results were furthered by positive trends in the Ukrainian economy, in particular – by a 19.5% growth of the Ukrainian market of KAMAZ trucks and a high level of Ukrainian consumers’ loyalty to the KAMAZ brand. One of the main ingredients of success was a product, service and marketing policy of the leader of the Russian automotive industry on the market of Ukraine.

One of achievements of OJSC KAMAZ in the first half-year was a presentation of new restyled vehicles of KAMAZ in Ukraine. The new models feature significantly improved consumer properties: increased service schedule, specific capacity, resource, significantly reduced fuel consumption. The new models have already received many Russian customers’ favorable reviews. Such models were presented in Ukraine for the first time, and KAMAZ pins its hopes on them.

In May 2011, OJSC KAMAZ for the first time held a huge event for its Ukrainian clients. On "KAMAZ Customer’s Day in Ukraine", current and potential clients of OJSC KAMAZ in Ukraine had an opportunity to get acquainted with the model number of KAMAZ vehicles and special equipment on KAMAZ chassis (more than 30 exhibits, including restyled models) to participate in the technical conference "The Ukrainian market of commercial vehicles: trends and prospects", to get an unprecedented 4% discount from the recommended prices of the manufacturing plant, to hold talks with top managers of KAMAZ Group of Companies. OJSC KAMAZ plans to organize such activities annually.

As for the service policy, it was an important step to increase service schedule of new KAMAZ vehicles, which also applies to the territory of Ukraine to date. In the first quarter of 2011, KAMAZ increased a maintenance interval in Ukraine from 5,500 km to 8,000 km.

Considering the positive dynamics of the truck market, the increase in sales of KAMAZ vehicles on the Ukrainian market, the specialists of OJSC KAMAZ predict continuation of positive trends for KAMAZ vehicles in the second half-year of 2011.
