OREANDA-NEWS. July 27, 2011. The 9th Arbitration Appeal Court confirmed the position of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) on a case against table salt producers and upheld the judgment of the Court of First Instance, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

On 22nd June 2010, the FAS Russia’s Commission found that a group of persons comprising “RusSol Limited”, “Bassol” OJSC, “Iletsksol” Ltd. and “Russol Trading” Ltd. violated the antimonopoly law. “Russol Trading” Ltd. entered in a prohibited “vertical agreement” with “Bassol” OJSC and “Iletsksol” Ltd. that resulted in fixing resale prices, which was a violation of Clause 1 Part 1 Article 11 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”.

“For us it is methodologically important that the Arbitration Appeal Court supported conclusions made by the FAS Commission that fixing resale prices by economic entities - members of the same group of persons is a violation of the antimonopoly law”, commented the Head of the FAS Russia’s Department for Control over Chemical Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex, Mr. Teimuraz Kharitonashvili.
