OREANDA-NEWS. July 27, 2011. Freight One has organized comprehensive cross-border haulage to China. The company has organized the haulage of more than 300 wagons with export timber and metals on a transit route through Mongolia.

A total of 185 wagons of timber have been delivered from the Irkutsk Region and Republic of Buryatia to Erlian (Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China), via Ulan Bator. The proposed logistics scheme significantly shortens the route and speeds up deliveries to central China for East Siberian shippers. Meanwhile, more than 100 wagons with export metal products from West Siberian and Novokuznetsk smelters have been hauled from Novokuznetsk-North and Novokuznetsk Sorting stations of the West Siberian Railway through the Naushki border station.

Freight One has organized not only the handover of wagons for use, but has also provided all the forwarding services on freight being hauled in several countries. Under an agreement signed with the Mongolians, Freight One rolling stock will be loaded with fluorite ores at Burundur station of the Ulan-Bator Railway to be hauled to facilities owned by Rusal Company in Russia. The agreement with Mongolian shippers significantly reduces empty running and thus reduces the rates shippers pay.

"The route to Yerlyan is very complicated," says Irkutsk Branch Director Valery Yakhimovich. "When you take into account Freight One’s accumulated experience in cross-border haulage in the east, we are offering shippers an opportunity to take full control of the delivery process from the handover of rolling stock, constant monitoring of rolling stock movements, forwarding and comprehensive help in completing the paperwork. As a result, the freight is delivered in the appropriate quantity and on time".
