OREANDA-NEWS. July 28, 2011. Company TTK, one of the largest backbone operators in Russia, announces that it has established a direct connection with the IP transit network of Level 3 Communications, Inc., a leading international provider of fiber-based communications services, reported the press-centre of TTK.

The agreement between TTK and Level 3 Communications is part of TTK’s project of the company’s IP network connectivity improvement. Under the terms of the agreement, reserved connections between the providers’ networks are organized at TTK’s nodes located in London and Amsterdam. Another connection point is TTK’s node which is currently being built in Frankfurt.

“Connection to Level 3’s IP transit network, which stretches throughout Continental United States and Europe, will better enable us to enhance reliability of the international segment of our IP network as well as increase accessibility of foreign Internet resources for the company’s customers”, said Vitaly Kotov, vice-president, head of ТТК’s Backbone unit.

“We are thrilled that Level 3 was chosen to facilitate TTK in the development of Internet services in Russia. It is a growing market and it makes business sense for TTK to engage closely with Level 3”, said James Heard, president of Level 3's European Markets Group, Level 3 Communications.
