OREANDA-NEWS. July 28, 2011. CROC has designed and implemented state-of-the-art multimedia systems within JSC  RUSNANO’s conference hall, press center, Board of Directors and R&D Board meeting rooms. These new systems create a single integrated environment with interaction tools for holding meetings, delivering presentations and using all necessary materials in a convenient format. The project was implemented in nine months.

“Currently, JSC  RUSNANO carries out large-scale projects. Due to the nature of our operations, we regularly hold meetings with multiple participants, including foreign speakers. Therefore, the ease of presentation delivery for all participants, supporting interactive materials, remote participant connectivity and simultaneous translation are vital features for us. The unified multimedia information system created by CROC brings our meetings to a whole new level. Our VIP guests have already benefited from the system during high-level meetings such as those with Condoleezza Rice (66th U.S. Secretary of State) and the RUSNANO Board; representatives from 11 countries of Nature Publishing Group (NPG), an international publishing company, with RUSNANO management; and the Prime Minister of Russia, Vladimir Putin, concerning RUSNANO's progress during 2007-2010,” said Andrey Kazachkov, Deputy Director of the Department of Security, RUSNANO.

The set of integrated multimedia systems allows for centralized unified control over multimedia tools based on Crestron equipment. They ensure operational efficiency when setting meeting scenarios and modes regarding image output on multiple display devices (built-in LCD panels, ceiling plasma panels, and floor plasma panels) as well as the lighting and sound in rooms.

The simultaneous interpretation system supports both wired and wireless users to offer extra convenience to participants sitting in the invitee area, while interpreters can enjoy high-quality sound and use their monitors to watch videos of speakers captured using video conferencing cameras that are specially situated so as to ensure that each participant of the meeting can be seen. The congress system was further improved by CROC in order to create required discussion scenarios with high-priority control rights for the chairman of the meeting.

The installation of video conferencing equipment in the meeting rooms and its integration with the document management system allows for the connecting of remote participants to events and for the recording and archiving of events. The conference room is equipped with a 6 х 1.5 meter video wall consisting of Christie MicroTiles video cubes (15 x 5 LED cubes) which allows for the simultaneous demonstration of scalable video content from multiple sources. All rooms are equipped with ceiling plasma panels which are lowered and rotated in different directions in order to provide visual information to each participant.

Despite the complex layout of meeting rooms, architectural design elements and decorative materials, the system created by CROC meets RUSNANO’s challenging "see everything, hear everyone, talk to everybody" requirement. To meet this goal, many of the solutions implemented were fully customized in accordance with customer requirements and wishes based on the advanced technologies of global vendors such as: Bosch, Clockaudio, AKG, Panasonic, Mitsubishi, Crestron, Christie, Extron, Element One, TV-One, Polycom, DBX, Crown and JBL.

Special attention should be paid to the interactive presentation capabilities developed by CROC and based on Microsoft Lync 2010. This system improves the efficiency of presentation delivery because both the speaker and the participants can use the pointer and draw over the slides on their touch screen monitors. Thanks to a simple interface, there is no need for training of invited participants.

“RUSNANO develops and promotes innovative technologies internationally. As a result, it is no wonder that the corporation has high expectations for the technology it uses in its operations. In this project, we employed all of our experience. Today all rooms are equipped with advanced equipment from leading manufacturers. The integration of 14 AV systems enabled the creation of an easy-to-use meeting infrastructure and collaboration features were implemented to the maximum extent. Thanks to the mobility of the equipment, rooms can be easily transformed for events of any type,” comments Alexey Volkov, Head of AV Systems, CROC.
