OREANDA-NEWS. July 28, 2011. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Henri Lachmann, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Schneider Electric in the Oguzkhan palace complex.

Thanking for the opportunity to discuss important aspects of cooperation during a personal meeting, the guest emphasized that his company was keenly interested in establishing long-term, fruitful partnerships with Turkmenistan, where the programmes of large-scale reforms were successfully implemented under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. As is known, Schneider Electric is one of the world’s leading producers of electrical equipment and automation devices offering a broad range of products and services in such key market segments as the power industry, construction and industrial infrastructure.

Greeting the top manager of Schneider Electric, the Turkmen leader reaffirmed that Turkmenistan stood ready to intensify further collaboration with world’s leading companies, which had innovative developments and tremendous scientific and industrial potential. The well-developed power industry is an important, integral component of sustainable development of the nation economy that our country seeks to modernize through applying best international practice, in particular adopting advanced innovative technologies, emphasized President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

During the meeting the Turkmen leader and his guest discussed priority aspects of partnerships that had the great prospects given the ambitious plans to develop the power industry in Turkmenistan. Taking an opportunity, Mr. Henri Lachmann put forward the new proposals of Schneider Electric to ensure stable and uninterrupted electricity supply to the Turkmen capital and modernize the electrical supply network in the country. In this context the guest informed that Schneider Electric intended to open the representative office in Ashgabat, which would train and promote professional growth of Turkmen specialists and develop new projects.

Focusing on the very high potential of the Turkmen market, where the most-favoured nation treatment was offered to foreign businesses, Mr. Henri Lachmann said that his company stood ready to actively collaborate in the projects launched in this critical sphere. The intention of one of the world-renowned companies to establish close contacts with Turkmenistan is another evidence for the high prestige our country has gained with the international business circles that is a real outcome of the prudent, innovative policy pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Turkmenistan’s tremendous economic potential and its unprecedented plans assigning a significant role to mutually advantageous cooperation make our country especially attractive for big international business. An illustration of this fact is business partnerships of Turkmenistan with such world-renowned companies as Siemens, Petronas, CNPC, RWE, Dragon Oil, Komatsu, Itochu Corporation, Kawasaki, Sojitz", Boeing, General Electric, Bouygues, Hyundai, Renaissance and many other companies that increase in number with every passing year.
