OREANDA-NEWS. July 29, 2011. TNK-BP is improving contractor and supplier management to deliver the 2012 Orenburg investment program of USD 2.5 bln in an optimum way, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

The bulk of this money is meant to be channeled into major projects capital construction. “To build these facilities, the company needs as many skilled specialists as possible but today we have less than half of what we need”, - said Alexander Grabovskiy, Head of the “TNK-BP Orenburg” Branch, addressing the TNK-BP Orenburg Regional Council meeting this week.

TNK-BP Orenburg is going to have a round table with the biggest regional construction companies where it is going to disclose its construction and capital investment plans to give potential contractors a chance to make up their minds as to whether they will be able to participate in the tender and cope with the scope the company requires.

“One way we are prepared to incentivate potential counterparties is to give them the status of a permanent partner”, Alexander Grabovskiy said. – “Not only will this status give a contractor tangible competitive advantages in terms of contracting and information support but will also give them confidence in a long-term cooperation with TNK-BP”.

Late last year, TNK-BP introduced the institution of Regional Councils on Contractor/ Supplier Relations. In July, apart from Orenburg, a series of regular Regional Council meetings were held in Tyumen and Saratov dedicated to checking the contractor feedback mechanism and annual performance - the way TNK-BP partners see them.

TNK-BP gives special attention to having transparent contractor relations procedures and is intolerant of any manifestations of corruption.
