RTS Announced Stock Market Weekly Trading Results: July 18-22, 2011
OREANDA-NEWS. July 29, 2011. Over the week of July 18-22, 2011, the RTS Index went up by 1.98% to reach 1,976.82 points (1,938.54 points as of July 15, 2011). Most of the positive impact on the RTS Index dynamics was related to the growing prices for ordinary shares of JSC "LUKOIL" (LKOHS) (plus 7.68 points), JSC "NOVATEK" (NVTKS) (plus 7.14 points) followed by ordinary shares of Rosneft (ROSNS) (plus 5.47 points).
The RTS Standard Index, the blue chips index, gained 0.39% to reach 11,681.50 points (11,636.17 points as of July 15, 2011). The "second-tier" stock index - RTS-2 experienced an increase of 1.63% closing at 2,258.28 points (2,222.15 points as of July 15, 2011).
Last week's growth on the stock market was accompanied by a decrease of volatility levels when the Russian Volatility Index RTSVX went down by 2.71% to reach 22.94 points (23.58 points as of July 15, 2011).
Last week all the key economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market demonstrated a positive trend. The largest growth was reported by the oil & gas sector, with the RTS Oil & Gas Index adding 3.63%. In addition, a significant growth was showed by metallurgy and consumer sectors, with the Metals & Mining Index and RTS Consumer & Retail Index going up by 2.17% and 1.91% respectively. A decline was reported only by the industrial sector, with the RTS Industrial Index losing 0.22%.
The regional index, RTS Siberia Index, lost 0.16%.
Last week the US dollar depreciated by 0.55% against the ruble to reach 27.91 rubles per US dollar (28.06 rubles as of July 15, 2011).

The total securities trading volume on RTS for the week of July 18-22, 2011 equaled USD11.59 billion (325.43 billion rubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD2,802.23 million.
The week's top sellers were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD1,579.73 million followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD511.44 million and ordinary shares of JSC "LUKOIL" (LKOH) with a turnover of USD315.96 million. The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 55.48%, 17.96% and 11.10% respectively.
The week's top gainers were ordinary shares of JSC "Polymetal" (PMTL) that went up by 12.33% to USD20.50, followed by ordinary shares of JSC Acron (AKRN) - by 9.28% to reach USD53.00 and preferred shares of JSOC Bashneft (BANEP) that added 7.53% to reach USD50.00. The week's top losers were ordinary shares of OJSC "TGC-9" (TGKI) that fell 7.69% to reach USD0.00012 followed by OJSC "TGK-6" (TGKF) that lost 2.94% to reach USD0.00033 and "NOMOS- BANK" (Open Joint-Stock Company) (NMOS) that lost 2.60% to reach USD37.50.
