OREANDA-NEWS. August 02, 2011. The Minister of Emergencies Viktor Baloga addressed to the heads of the most affected regions by the Chernobyl disaster, with a proposal to start without delay the measures of the dosimetry certification.

Appropriate letters were sent to the heads of the Vinnytsia, Volyn, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Khmelnytsky, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi and Chernihiv regional state administrations.

As stated in the documents, the Ministry of Emergencies pursuant to the Decree of the President of Ukraine "On activities, associated with the 25th anniversary of the Chernobyl catastrophe" in the part on the revision of the boundaries of the zones of radioactive contamination, directs the distribution of budgetary allocations on the implementation in the regions of activities for dosimetry certification of settlements, contaminated as a result of the accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Station according to the budget program "Radiological protection of the population, and ecological improvement of the territory subjected to radioactive contamination" for the year 2011.

The volumes of budget allocations determined in accordance with scientific recommendations with regard to the proposals of regional administrations in the limits of the approved expenditure.
In the work on the dosimetry certification should be involved organizations, institutions, enterprises, having the Certificate on attestation analytical subdivisions (laboratories, departments, enterprises, etc.) on the right to carry out measurements in the field of determination of the content of radionuclides, which are given to the state bodies of metrology and standardization and which operate during the period of execution of works on the dosimetry passports.

Given the time constraints of dosimetry certification and the seasonal nature of its implementation, the Ministry of Emergencies considers it necessary to start without delay the measures of the dosimetry certification.
