OREANDA-NEWS. August 03, 2011. State airline "Air Moldova" becomes a strategic partner for Europe. Association of European Airlines (AEA) invites the flag carrier of the Republic of Moldova to participate in negotiations in order to establish a strategic partenership, within the framework of a new program that will include non European airlines operating services to and from Europe, reported the press-centre of Air Moldova.

Invitation for cooperation indicates that "Air Moldova" is regarded as a safe and stable company, operating in accordance with all rules and standards governing the safety of flights. Only airlines with an internationally recognized status can join the program. AEA currently brings together 36 major airlines from across Europe.

The first round of negotiations on concluding an agreement about the strategic partnership between Air Moldova and the Association of European Airlines is going to take place in August 2011. "I strongly believe that such partenership would bring a tremendous added value to Air Moldova and would facilitate its business with respect to the European market"- mentioned the Secretary General of the Association of European Airlines - Mr. Ulrich Schulte-Strathaus.

Signing the agreement on strategic partnership opens up the flagship of the Moldovan civil aviation important resources in the statistical market research and trend analysis. The AEA gives its members the support they need to focus on their businesses and make them thrive, by following all aero political issues, analyzing their impact, recommending strategies, networking with all relevant stakeholders and influencing the legislative process.

Association of European Airlines has been the trusted voice of the European airline industry for over 50 years. Based on its extensive knowledge of the industry and its far-reaching networks, AEA is an essential platform for industry, and is relied upon by policy-makers and the media as a trustworthy contributor to the debates around the decision-making process. AEA works in partnership with the institutions of the European Union and other stakeholders in the value chain, to ensure the sustainable growth of the European airline industry in a global context.

Invitation to a strategic partnership with AEA was not accidental. Marked achievements of the national carrier of the Republic of Moldova for a long period of time did not go unnoticed by the potential partners.

On July 13, 2004 Air Moldova became a member of International Association of Air Transport (IATA). Conditions of becoming an IATA member presume high standards in all aspects of the airline activity. Before becoming an IATA member, Air Moldova underwent audits in fields of operations, maintenance, flight safety and quality systems development. Already in 2006 the company implemented the electronic ticket to all destinations from the routes network, enrolling one of the first companies in the CIS in terms of e-commerce ticket. In December 2008 Air Moldova got a new performance - inclusion in the register IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA). Obtaining IOSA certificate is the sign of quality for an airline and its recognition by the world aviation community as a safe transport in accordance with all international safety standards.

In 2009 IATA launched the project "Simplifying the Business". The program's mission is to change the way the air transport industry operates – resulting in better service for passengers and lower costs for the industry.

These initiatives include a program for introducing the bar codes on boarding passes and implementation of electronic ticketing. These procedures have helped to streamline activities related to passenger transportation also have standardized business processes and operations of the airline to the highest international standards in passenger traffic.

For high achievement in the program "Simplifying the Business", "Air Moldova" was qualified by IATA as a company with a "PLATINUM STATUS".

IATA is the only international organization that plays an important role in the work of all parties involved in air transport industry, in order to provide global service quality, security and efficiency at high standards.
