OREANDA-NEWS. August 03, 2011. During January-June 2011, Russian Railways spent 163.5 million roubles on this project at Volga Railways, in line with the Company’s investment plan, reported the press-centre of RZD.

Russian Railways will be making a total investment 0.9 billion roubles in this project, which involves a comprehensive reconstruction of the Trybnaya - Baskunchak - Aksaraiskaya stretch in 2011.

The objective of the project is to develop the infrastructure of this stretch and increase its overall through capacity.

The Trybnaya - Aksaraiskaya railway line on Volga Railways is part of the North - South International Transport Corridor (ITC), which provides transport and economic links between the Urals, Siberia, Russia’s North-West and Central Russia, and Russia’s southern regions, the Caspian Sea ports, Kazakhstan and the republics of the Caucasus.
