OREANDA-NEWS. August 03, 2011. Russian Railways continues to implement the dedicated investment project "Development of the stretch between Tobolsk – Surgut", which involves the construction of continuous second main lines on this section, reported the press-centre of RZD.

In all, implementing the work planned for 2011 will increase the through capacity for trains on the section between Tobolsk - Demyankov to 6 pairs of trains per day.

The total investment in upgrading the infrastructure between Tobolsk - Surgut in 2011 will amount to 1.2 billion roubles.

According to the investment programme, the total cost of the project, which envisages the construction of 392.34 kilometres of main and station lines between 2007 and 2015, will be 41.3 billion roubles.

The project will increase the through capacity of the section between Tobolsk - Surgut to 66 pairs of trains a day and facilitate freight volumes of up to 40 million tons by 2016.
