OREANDA-NEWS. August 03, 2011. Russian Railways continues to implement the investment project, which envisages the construction of continuous second main lines on North Caucasus Railways, reported the press-centre of RZD.

In 2011, Russian Railways will be investing 7.2 billion roubles to implement the project.

The purpose of the project is to facilitate the delivery of goods to the ports of the Azov-Black Sea transport hub (Novorossiysk, Tuapse, Kavkaz and Temryuk and Grushevskaya) in the volumes planned during the target years and to optimise the Krasnodar hub through a bypass and switching freight traffic to the Timashevskaya - Crimea route.
