OREANDA-NEWS. August 4, 2011. Ingosstrakh Insurance Company paid an insurance compensation in the amount of RUB 11.3 million to a large Russian bank due to breaking of ATM and theft of cash by abusers.

Law enforcement authorities opened a criminal case under Article 161 (paragraph 6, Part 3) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (robbery on an especially large scale). Documents submitted by the policy holder state that in the night-time on May 27, 2011 unidentified persons illegally entered a service room at one of the institutions in Shchelkovo town, the Moscow Region, and bound up the guard. Then criminals opened the ATM safe using electric tools, took the money and escaped from the crime scene.

After substantiating of all the facts of the incident and upon receiving the necessary set of documents from the policy holder Ingosstrakh Insurance Company acknowledged the incident as an insurance event. According to the policy terms, the insurance compensation was paid both for the stolen money and for the damaged ATM. The latter was insured by Ingosstrakh Insurance Company under ATM and Cash Insurance plan.  The compensation provides for indemnification for cases that include unlawful activities of third parties, theft with illegal infiltration, robbery and banditry.
