OREANDA-NEWS. August 05, 2011. The average retail prices for diesel oil in the same period increased by 24.7 percent, to 14.30 leis for a liter, according to the National Power Regulating Agency. The average prices for liquefied gas rose by 11.8 percent and totaled 7.38 leis for a liter.

According to the National Power Regulating Agency’s report on the oil product market’s state in the first half of 2011, retail petrol prices in Moldova changed 4 times in this period, diesel oil prices changed 5 times and liquefied gas prices – 3 times.

 The rise in retail prices was determined by the growth of purchasing prices for oil products, that, in its turn, resulted from the increase in oil price quotation and Platt’s prices on the international markets. In January-June 2011, the average price of a barrel of Brent oil increased by 40.9 percent in comparison with the same period last year, to USD 110.9, and average prices of Platt’s for petrol and diesel oil grew 37 percent and 45 percent, respectively, amounting to \\$989.21 for a tone and USD 958.2 for a tone, respectively.

As a result, the average purchasing prices for petrol and diesel oil increased by 33.5 percent and 41%, respectively, amounting to USD 1,007.8 for a tone and USD 986.3 for a tone. The average price of liquefied gas grew 32.5 percent, amounting to USD 805.3 for a tone.
