OREANDA-NEWS. August 5, 2011. Over the week of July 25-29, 2011, the RTS Index went down by 0.60% to reach 1,965.02 points (1,976.82 points as of July 22, 2011). Most of the negative impact on the RTS Index dynamics was related to the falling prices for ordinary shares of Gazprom (GAZPS) (down 3.66 points) followed by ordinary shares of Rosneft (ROSNS) (down 2.56 points) and JSC  "LUKOIL" (LKOHS) (down 2.52 points).

The RTS Standard Index, the blue chips index, lost 1.18% to end up at 11,544.06 points (11,681.50 points as of July 22, 2011). Whereas, the "second-tier" stocks index - RTS-2 experienced an increase of 1.22% closing at 2,285.87 points (2,258.28 points as of July 22, 2011).

Last week's decline on the stock market was accompanied by a growth of volatility levels when the Russian Volatility Index RTSVX went up by 0.35% to reach 23.02 points (22.94 points as of July 22, 2011).

Last week key economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market demonstrated a mixed trend. The largest decrease was reported by the oil & gas sector, with the RTS Oil & Gas Index shedding 1.37%. The most significant growth was shown by power and metallurgy sectors, with the RTS Electric Utilities Index and RTS Metals & Mining Index adding 1.08% and 1.00% respectively.

The regional index, RTS Siberia Index, gained 2.35%.

Last week the US dollar depreciated by 1.14% against the ruble to reach 27.59 rubles per US dollar (27.91 rubles as of July 22, 2011).

The total securities trading volume on RTS for the week of July 25-29, 2011 equaled USD9.12 billion (251.55 billion rubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD2,138.57 million.

The week's top sellers were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD1,115.35 million followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD383.16 million and ordinary shares of JSC  "LUKOIL" (LKOH) with a turnover of USD249.59 million. The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 51.13%, 17.56% and 11.44% respectively.

The week's top gainers were ordinary shares of Open JSC "Nizhnekamskshina" (NKSH) that went up by 10.74% to USD1.65, followed by preferred shares of "Surgutneftegas" OJSC (SNGSP) - by 6.12% to reach USD0.52 and V.Bank (VZRZ) that added 6.06% to reach USD35.00.

The week's top losers were ordinary shares of OJSC "Polyus Gold" that fell 6.80% to reach USD58.25 followed by ordinary shares of JSC "IDGC Holding" (MRKH) that lost 5.48% to reach USD0.1276 and ordinary shares of JSC "RAO Energy System of East" (VRAO) that lost 4.00% to reach USD0.012.
