OREANDA-NEWS. August 08, 2011. The opportunity of establishing such structure to manage the winegrowing and winemaking sector and to promote wine exports was discussed during the “round table” held in Chisinau on the subject “The sustainable winegrowing and winemaking sector management on the basis of the public-private partnership”.

The National Agency of Grapes and Wines is supposed to be a public-private institution subordinated to the Ministry of Agriculture. The Agency will be governed by the Administrative Board that will comprise representatives of the government, winemaking companies, scientific circles. The new institution will be promoting wine production on the home and foreign markets, monitoring production’s quality; administering the single brand of Moldovan wines and fixing norms and quality standards of the wine and brandy production.

The Agency is planned to be financed by the state and by the private sector in equal parts – 50% and 50%.
