OREANDA-NEWS. August 10, 2011. Children, like sponges, absorb information that they obtain in their tender years of life. New knowledge and skills acquired in childhood form the basis for the further development of a child.

As from today, the Bank launches a new campaign "Children's Bookworld". Under the programme 10,000 books for children have been purchased by the Bank's employees and passed on to kids in over 100 kindergartens. Among these books are: many fairy tales, colouring books, informative and educational literature. The Bank's representatives have visited children in pre-school educational institutions in all regions of Ukraine.

PR Director Natalia Napadovska is quoted as saying: "The Bank is conducting a number of different social projects relating to the environmental protection and saving natural resources, blood donor programmes, provision of medical facilities to medical institutions, etc. We decided to help the smallest ones this autumn. I am sure that the books received will help kids and teachers in the educational process. Who knows, there might be young bankers among these children and one day they will come to Finance and Credit Bank to work".

The "Children's Bookworld" campaign is a continuation of the permanent campaign "Give a book to a school library" which took off the ground by efforts of the Bank in 2008. Over the entire period of its operation, the Bank's employees visited a Kazatin boarding school of I-II degree named after Podgorbunsky (the Vinnytsia region), Bila Tserkva boarding school of I-II degree for the deaf (the Kyiv region) and Nizhyn orphanage for underage children (the Kiev region). In total, more than 6,000 books were given to children.

Finance and Credit Bank cannot remain indifferent to destinies of children deprived of parental warmth. The Bank's staff repeatedly collected money and purchased toys, clothing and personal hygiene products and passed them on to orphanages throughout Ukraine.

In total, 2009-2010 Finance and Credit Bank spent about UAH 3.5 mln on charitable, social and sponsor projects. During the 1st half of 2011 the Bank allocated  nearly UAH 1million to various charitable causes.
